Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is LoadTeam malware?

A: No, LoadTeam is not a virus, malware or spyware.
However, LoadTeam uses your computer to mine coins, which unfortunately gets flagged as malware by most anti-virus software.
If you trust LoadTeam, you can bypass the warnings and add LoadTeam to your anti-virus' or Windows Defender's white list.
Alternatively, you can install LoadTeam on an old, freshly formatted PC or laptop that you use just for LoadTeam.

Q: What are these "jobs" that LoadTeam runs on my computer?

A: LoadTeam uses your computer processor and memory to mine coins.
LoadTeam does not currently use graphics cards.

Q: How much money will I make?

A: It depends on how how fast your computer is and also on market conditions.
The best way to find out is to run LoadTeam for a few days and see how much you are making to decide whether it's worth it.
In any case, please notice that LoadTeam is NOT a get rich fast scheme and you should NOT view LoadTeam as a main source of income. LoadTeam is just a topup to your existing income.

Q: LoadTeam is paying me for doing almost nothing. What is the "catch"?

A: LoadTeam is not giving money away: we are buying computer power from you.
In other words, LoadTeam "borrows" your computer power (processor, memory, internet and electricity) to execute jobs.
This video explains how LoadTeam works.

Q: How do payments work?

A: All LoadTeam payments are via PayPal, so you must have a PayPal account before cashing out your funds from LoadTeam.
LoadTeam uses PayPal's e-mail payment service, so the PayPal e-mail address on your LoadTeam account must be the same e-mail address on your PayPal account.
You can transfer money from LoadTeam to your PayPal account at any time, but the minimum transfer is 1 US dollar.
When you transfer money from LoadTeam to your PayPal account, you will receive an e-mail from PayPal informing you that you've received a payment from LoadTeam.
Once the money is in your PayPal account, you can spend it online at any site that accepts PayPal or you can transfer the money from PayPal to your bank account or credit card.
LoadTeam will provide you with PayPal's reference number for the transfer, but please notice that LoadTeam's responsibility ends at the time the money is transferred to your PayPal account. From that point on, it's between you and PayPal.

Q: Can I use more than one computer?

A: Yes, you can install and run LoadTeam simultaneously in as many computers as you wish.
You need only a single username and you can use this single username to login in every computer you use.
Payments for jobs completed in any of your computers will go directly into your account.

Q: How can I earn more?

A: There are many ways to optimise LoadTeam to make sure you get the most out of your computer.
Check the Earn More page to find out more.

Q: Can I use my computer while LoadTeam is running?

A: Yes, the Windows app is very lightweight and it runs quietly in the system tray (next to the clock).
Even when the app is working on a job, you will barely notice it's there.

Q: What are the system requirements to install the LoadTeam app?

A: In order to install LoadTeam, you need a PC with:

  • Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or later
  • 2GB RAM
  • 100MB free disk space

Q: Is there a version of the LoadTeam app for Mac/iPad/iPhone/Android, etc?

A: No, the LoadTeam app is only available for Windows.
There is a LoadTeam app for Android on GooglePlay, but that's just a convenient way to get to the LoadTeam website. The Android app does not mine coins.

Q: How much internet data and power does the LoadTeam app use?

A: It depends on the computer, but the LoadTeam app does consume a little bit of internet data when it sends or receives jobs, which are very small pieces of data. LoadTeam may also cause a slight increase in your power consumption. For these reasons, you should compare your power and internet usage with and without running LoadTeam and assess whether it's financially worth running LoadTeam on your computer.

Q: I don't have a PayPal account. How do I open one?

A: Click here to open a PayPal account.
The PayPal e-mail address on your LoadTeam and PayPal account must be the same.

Q: How do I join LoadTeam?

A: All you have to do is signup, download a free app and leave it running on your computer.
Once installed, the app will contact the server from time to time and retrieve jobs.
Your computer will quietly work on the job and send the results back to the LoadTeam server.
Once the job is completed, your account gets credited and the cycle starts again.
All of this happens automatically. You don't have to do anything, apart from checking your balance and getting money out whenever you want.

Q: I'm trying to sign up but my country is not listed, why?

A: LoadTeam payments are via PayPal payouts, which are not supported in some countries.
If you are from one of these countries, we cannot accept your account, as we wouldn't be able to pay you.
Please do not open a LoadTeam account if you are unable to receive money from LoadTeam via PayPal.

Q: I set the intensity to 100% but LoadTeam is not using 100% CPU power, why?

A: LoadTeam uses a combination of CPU and memory to process jobs.
When a LoadTeam user increases the processing intensity, LoadTeam uses more CPU cores to process the jobs, but more CPU cores does not necessarily mean more calculations per second. This is because there is an overhead associated with switching between cores.
For this reason, it is common for some computers to achieve their maximum number of calculations per second when the intensity is set to a value lower then 100% (for example 80% or 90%).
If you need more technical information, have a look at the specification for RandomX, which is the algorithm LoadTeam uses to mine coins.

Q: Why is LoadTeam crashing or restarting?

A: The most common cause for LoadTeam crashes is outdated Windows drivers. Make sure your Windows has the latest Windows updates installed.
Another cause for crashes is CPU overheating, especially when using higher intensities, which, apart from crashes, can cause large fluctuations in the number of calculations per second.
When fine tuning LoadTeam, it is a good idea to use an application to monitor the temperature of your cores, for example Core Temp.
